Factors Contributing to Successful Relationships Between Pets and Their Owners

You are hereby invited to participate in a scientific study conducted by the University of Edinburgh, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and the University of Pennsylvania. The aim of the study is to identify factors that contribute to a successful relationship between pets and their owners. In order to participate, you must be at least 18 years old.

This first page of the survey will request your consent to process your personal data. Taking part in the study is voluntary and you may choose to withdraw from the study at any time by exiting the survey. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to respond to an online questionnaire that takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.

You are entitled to have your information deleted, corrected, restricted and to have access to the personal data being processed, as well as the right to object to the processing.

There are no known risks of participating in this study, and you will not receive any compensation such as payment for your participation. However, the results may benefit other pet owners in the future.

No identifying information such as name or address will be collected in the survey. All efforts will be made to ensure that your submitted answeres are stored securely. No personal data will be stored for longer than required to complete the scientific report.

The information collected from this survey will be discussed by the project managers (Therese Rehn, Swedish University of Agriculture and James Serpell, University of Pennsylvania) and will be anonymized before compiled in a scientific report. All data that can be linked to personal data is handled at SLU in Sweden. The data is collected via the web-based survey tool Netigate.
